1963 Ford Falcon Sprint
Wednesday, August 1, 2012 Its obvious this car truly resonates with Jay Leno, for his own reasons. If you are close to Jay's age, you remember Fords with 260 V8's, you probably remember Falcon's with inline sixes which usually did not last a long time with "younger" individuals of the time depressing the accelerator. Yes...these were the pre Mustang days!
We remember the friend with the red Buick Special with the 215 aluminum nailhead (the engine that subsequently powered many English vehicles) with a 4 speed usually getting his doors blown off by a Falcon probably a Sprint with a 260. That poor 215 getting constantly flogged required a rebuild sooner that later. Perhaps you would even remember having the heads shaved, and then putting shims under the rocker arm shaft pedestals the be certain the valves were closing properly.
Fascinating the memories that certain old cars bring back...enjoy the video!
